The most important pitfall when installin Cacti (on windows) is that the documented requirements are wrong.ĭon't trust the manual, you have to pay very close attention to use precisely the correct versions of all the software packages. Use the links in the overview page and go from 1 to 8. ○ Don't use the "next page" buttons, they do not follow the correct page-order. But use it as the main guideline, i've not duplicated all steps in this HOWTO, just additions/changes to the community manual.

It's quite good, but there are a lot of pitfalls, documented in this HOWTO. It's not specified for what Windows version this manual is intended. Use this, it's the most comprehensive manual. here goes:ĭon't use this, it's very incomplete and outdated, use the community documentationĬacti 0.8.8 community documentation windows manual I wanted to edit the wiki documentation, but i couldn't figure out how to get an account there, so. Nonetheless, i think they will be very useful for anyone trying to install cacti on Windows Server 2008. The HOWTO below is not very well written, but basically just slightly improved notes that i took while i was installing. I've struggled a long time with installing this, using pieces of documentation and forum posts left and right.
